Setting up a Company & Trust

You may want to own and run your business as a sole trader or partnership, or you may even want to have a company or a trust do this for you.

At Trinity Partners Lawyers, we will advise you in regards to the various business structures and other considerations such as compliance, tax planning and asset protection – specific to your particular requirement or situation.

We provide comprehensive advice on all areas of business and corporate law, including the formation of entities and corporate governance.

Setting up a company

Setting up or registering a company in Australia is quick and easy. We can provide you with all the documents you need to set up an Australian company and to register the company electronically for you, through ASIC online. ASIC will then provide you with a Certificate of Registration which contains the company’s Australian Company Number (“ACN”).

Setting up a trust

Setting up or registering a trust is also quick and easy. We will work closely with you to determine what your requirements are in order to set up a family trust – whether the family trust is intended to hold your family’s assets or to conduct your family’s business affairs.

Registration for tax

In addition, the family trust or company that we help to set-up are incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 in Australia, and these entities are entitled to an Australian Business Number (“ABN”). Our experienced in-house accountants will work with you to give you advice on whether registration for GST is required.
